As an independent Program Manager I work with international organizations designing and implementing programs and projects on peace building and migration. Currently assigned with the Dutch NGO Takecarebnb that brings together refugees and host families..
Assignment as interim Team Coordinator with PAX on Latin America and Africa programs to assure fundraising; building donor relations; reorganization country office South Sudan. Overseeing human resources of staff in Utrecht and South Sudan (national team based in Juba); project based interventions in Sahel (conflict affected Liptakou-Gourma region), South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan and Colombia.
Assignments with Dutch Refugee Council, Fedasil in Belgium and COA The Netherlands on migration projects.
Country Director on peacebuilding projects with International Alert in Mali
Design and implementation of projects with African young people: campaigning and advocacy on empowering of new movements on social change and economic empowerment, using innovative tools and (digital) media. Main focus is to develop and support strong African groups of and for young people, with as an objective economic development, political inclusion and social cohesion.
Fundraising and business development for new projects and new opportunities: for the Geneva based NGO International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) I designed a new strategy for multiple funding of global programs on migration. Building relationships with donors e.g. European Union, Open Society Foundation, Ford Foundation, Swiss and Dutch government.
As the Country Director for BBC Media Action I was responsible for the overall management of all programs in South Sudan. BBC Media Actions priorities are on counter narrative and behavior change programs on education, good governance and reconciliation. Management of 50 staff. Responsible for all security related decisions in civil war situation.
Program Director RNW Media, The Netherlands, August 2015- Oktober 2016- August 2015
Program Manager for RNW Media, the main Dutch NGO using innovative and digital media tools for behavior change and counter narrative on reconciliation, peace building and democracy with civil society movements globally. I managed projects on democracy, human rights, reconciliation, counter narrative all around capacity development of local partners in Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo,. Ivory Coast, Mali, Yemen, Syria and Libya; including identifying fundraising up to 15 million US$.
Country Director BBC Media Action South Sudan, November 2014- July 2015
Managed international and national staff and projects in conflict affected Sout Sudan. Succesfully secured funding from DFID, UNFPA, USAID.
Regional Representative Development Media International (DMI) West and Central Africa, December 2013 October 2014
As the regional representative of the London based INGO DMI I developed and managed programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo on campaigning for behavior change in health. Successfully achieved 1.5 million$ funding with Unicef, Save the Children.
Chief of Party Internews Network Central African Republic and Ivory Coast. April 2010- December 2013
As Chief of Party I managed 4 USAID, DFID and US State Department funded projects in Central African Republic (3 projects) and Ivory Coast (1 project) to improve media on production of behavior change programs on human rights and social cohesion.
Campaign director Multimedia event ‘Beforexile’, The Netherlands, August 2008 – January 2010
I developed a multimedia event ‘Beforexile’: a project with the aim to improve the image of refugees. Over 100.000 people visited an open air photo-exposition at 6 public locations all over the Netherlands, an interactive website and a book-on-line.
