RFG Reporter is een mentorprogramma dat gevluchte mediamakers ondersteunt bij het ontwikkelen van hun vaardigheden, het uitbreiden van hun netwerk en het creëren van professionele mediaproducties. Dit traject is opgezet om talentvolle journalisten met een vluchtelingenachtergrond een plek te geven in de Nederlandse mediawereld.

Wat houdt het programma in?

RFG Reporter duurt één jaar en biedt deelnemers intensieve begeleiding door ervaren mentoren. Elke journalist wordt gekoppeld aan een mentor en werkt aan pitches, artikelen en mogelijk multimediale producties. Naast individuele begeleiding volgen de deelnemers workshops (Nederlands medialandschap, artikelen schrijven in Nederlandse context, interviewen, AI, media-ethiek en -recht, en ondernemerschap), bezoeken ze redacties en nemen ze deel aan redactie-events.

RFG Reporter is a mentorship program that supports refugee media professionals in developing their skills, expanding their networks, and producing professional media content. This program is designed to help talented journalists with a refugee background find their place in the Dutch media landscape.

What does the program involve?

RFG Reporter runs for one year and provides participants with intensive guidance from experienced mentors. Each journalist is paired with a mentor and works on pitches, articles, and possibly multimedia productions. In addition to individual guidance, participants attend workshops on topics such as the Dutch media landscape, writing articles in a Dutch context, interviewing, AI, media ethics and law, and entrepreneurship. They also visit editorial offices and participate in editorial events.
