Rose Ngoy

My name is Rose Ngoy, I am a freelance journalist from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I obtained my bachelor's degree in social communication, with a specialisation in journalism and press, from the Institut Supérieur Interdiocésain Monseigneur Mulolwa (ISIM) in Lubumbashi.

With more than a decade of experience in journalism, I have developed my skills within different genres, with a strong focus on investigative journalism in recent years. Among other things, I wrote an article on how some mining companies take advantage of the laxity of state officials and the deep-rooted corruption within the system.

This specialisation allows me to explore critical social issues and tell stories that create awareness and drive change within my community.

Besides my journalistic work, I gained more than nine years of experience as an administrative manager in a company. This role taught me strong leadership and organisational skills, enabling me to manage teams efficiently and optimise processes.

I am fluent in French, English and Swahili, which helps me communicate with diverse audiences and enrich my reporting. I am also currently learning Dutch, further expanding my linguistic repertoire and intercultural understanding.
