I am Johanna Aguillon, an experienced art director and investigative journalist in the film and media industry. Since 1987, I have been passionately working on productions that tell stories and create impact. As an art director and journalist, I shape both visual concepts and in-depth stories, combining my creativity and investigative skills. My ambition is to use my extensive experience to create meaningful projects that touch viewers and offer insights into the world around us.

Work experience

2019 - 2021: Investigative journalist at Xemáforo SAS  

Conducted journalistic research for productions, focusing on factual substantiation and depth.  

2014 - 2015: Art director at “Narcos,” FoxTelecolombia  

Responsible for the artistic and visual look of “Narcos,” from episode 5 in season 1 to season 2.  

2006: Special Reporter at CICR Press  

Worked as special reporter for the ‘Jaque Operation’, an operation that led to the release of Ingrid Betancourt and three US hostages.  

1994 - 1998: Research and art assistant at various productions  

Worked on political documentaries and undercover reports in collaboration with various production teams.

Training

1990 - 1994: Bachelor of Film and Media, Universidad Nacional de Colombia  

Studies with focus on film production and media studies.  

2005: Art Direction training, Bogota School of Arts  

Specialising in art direction for television and film.  

2007: Investigative journalism training, Colombian Journalism School  

Direction on research skills and practice in media.
