Inci Nur Bolukbasi
“As a former refugee, I know just how great the gap can be between how people talk about you and who you really are.”
Inci represents a new generation of visual storytellers. At the age of seventeen, she set off on her own to Philippines, where she learnt English and studied psychology. That experience gave her the ability to view people and cultures with an open mind.
She is now in the final stage of her Media and Culture degree at the University of Amsterdam. She has created content for Patta Academy and various social organisations. For Omroep Brabant During Ramadan, she showed what her daily life is like and gave viewers an intimate glimpse into a world that often remains hidden.
Through video, photography and social storytelling, she aims to challenge stereotypes and highlight the human side of migration. Her work is personal, accessible and emotionally resonant. Inci tells stories that you don’t just see, but also feel.
