Khaled Abu Salah

‘Khaled Abu Salah’ is a pseudonym that journalist Adnan Hamid adopted in 2011 to protect himself. Everyone now knows him as Khaled, and that is the name he prefers to use.

Khaled is an experienced multimedia journalist and researcher with over fourteen years“ experience in television, print, magazines and online journalism. His journalistic career took shape in Syria, where, from 2011 onwards, he reported on the uprising against Bashar al-Assad’s regime at great personal risk. ”I was one of the first to appear on camera and speak openly about what was really happening.”

As an eyewitness and reliable source, he worked with international media such as BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera. He also accompanied missions from the United Nations and the Arab League to shed light on the reality in Syria.

Khaled holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Studies and is currently a PhD candidate in Conflict Resolution and Governance at the University of Amsterdam. Khaled draws on his background in political science, international relations and conflict studies to gain a deep understanding of complex social issues and help find solutions.
